The visible weld seam: a mark of reliability and durability
Quality that speaks for itself.
Leaving the weld bead visible reflects a focus on mechanical performance and structural strength, rather than purely aesthetic finish.
We also believe that seam welding remains a key manual process requiring genuine expertise.
There is no longer any reason to get rid of it…
It is a transparent and consistent approach:- We take full responsibility for our manufacturing
– We prioritise genuine robustness over a ‘smooth’ appearance –
We put functionality and durability first
– Nothing is hidden: the quality of the weld is visible and therefore verifiable
Mechanical integrity maintained
Grinding a weld bead is never a neutral process. This operation may:- Slightly reduce the cross-sectional area
– Remove some of the structural reinforcement provided by the weld bead
– Create stresses that may affect the weld’s long-term performance
By leaving the cord exposed:- All the material applied is preserved
– The joint retains its
maximum strength – Durability is optimised, particularly on a vice subjected to high stresses
In a workbench vice subjected to significant stresses such as intense clamping, repeated impacts and torsional forces, every millimetre of material contributes directly to the overall reliability of the assembly.
This is also an environmentally responsible choice, due to the metal dust generated when the slide is ground.
The choice remains rational, technical and focused on the user’s best interests: reliability, precision and durability.
